Rihanna, celým menom Robin Rihanna Fenty (* 20. február 1988) je mladá speváčka barbadoského pôvodu, v súčasnosti žijúca v San Diegu v Kalifornii, USA.
Jej tvorba obsahuje prvky popu, r’n‘b, reggae, dancehall a dance. Preslávila sa hitmi ako "Pon de Replay", "SOS", či "Unfaithful".
Kariéra [upraviť]
Keď mala Rihanna pätnásť rokov, jej priateľ ju predstavil hudobnému producentovi Evanovi Rogersovi, ktorý na Barbadose trávil s manželkou dovolenku. Rogers a jeho partner Carl Sturken Rihanne v USA spravili nahrávky a rozposlali ich do rôznych nahrávacích spoločností. Jedna z nich sa dostala do rúk Jay-Z, rappera a prezidenta spoločnosti Def Jam Records ktorý s ňou podpísal zmluvu.
Podľa jej vlastných slov jej hudbu najviac ovplyvnili Alicia Keys, Beyoncé a jej karibský pôvod.
2005-2007: Music of the Sun a A Girl Like Me [upraviť]
Jej debutový album Music of the Sun vyšiel 30. augusta 2005. Prvý singel s názvom „Pon de Replay“ zaznamenal úspech v svetových rebríčkoch, aj keď album ako celok dostal hodnotenie len dve a pol hviezdičky z piatich od časopisu Rolling Stone. Ako súčasť propagácie albumu Rihanna robila predskokana pre Gwen Stefani na jej turné. Druhý singel „If It's Lovin' That You Want” zďaleka nedosiahol až taký veľký úspech ako prvý, a tretí singel „Let me“ vyšiel len v Japonsku.
Druhý album s názvom A Girl Like Me Rihanne vyšiel v apríli 2006, menej ako osem mesiacov po prvom albume. Nasledovali single „SOS“, „Unfaithful“, „We Ride“ a „Break It Off“, ktorý naspievala v spolupráci so Seanom Paulom.
2007–súčasnosť: Good Girl Gone Bad [upraviť]
Tretí album Good Girl Gone Bad vyšiel 5. júna 2007. Z albumu vzišlo zatiaľ osem hitov, medzi ktoré patrí určite svetový singel č.1 „Umbrella“, ktorý naspievala spolu s Jay-Z-m. Vo Veľkej Británii bol hitom číslo 1 neskutočne dlho, až 10 týždňov bez prerušenia, čím sa stal najdlhšie hranou jednotkou v Británii od roku 1994, kedy sa singel skupiny Wet Wet Wet „Love Is All Around“ udržal na čele až 15 týždňov. Nasledovali ho ďalšie veľmi úspešné single „Shut Up and Drive“, „Don't Stop The Music“, z ktorých sa „Don't stop the music“ stala 3. najlepšou v hitparáde Billboard Hot 100. Tiež vydala pieseň „Hate That I Love You“, ktorú naspievala v spolupráci s Ne-Yom.
Spolu so znovu-vydaním jej tretieho albumu, nazvaného Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded, ktorý vyšiel 17. júna 2008, vydala Rihanna single „Take a Bow“" - ktorý sa stal svetovým hitom číslo 1, duet s Maroon 5, „If I Never See Your Face Again“ a „Disturbia“, ktorá sa neskôr tiež stala hitom číslo jedna na Hot 100, čím bola už v poradí štvrtou skladbou, ktorá sa stala hitom číslo jeden. Rihanna má už dokopy päť najlepších skladieb na Billboarde Hot 100, z toho štyri ako samostatná speváčka, („SOS“, „Umbrella“, „Take a Bow“ a „Disturbia“), ako aj T.I.ova pieseň „Live Your Life“, na ktorej s ním spolu spievala. Týmto sa stala jednou z dvoch sólových speváčok na svete s najväčším počtom číslo 1 hitov v tejto dekáde, spolu s Beyonce. Z albumu Good Girl Gone Bad sa len v USA predalo viac než dva milióny kusov, čím zaň Rihanna získala dve platinové platne od asociácie RIAA. Tento album sa stal zatiaľ jej najlepšie predávaným albumom.
Ako herečka si zahrala seba vo filme Bravo Girls: Všetko alebo nič, objavila sa aj v jednej časti americkej telenovely All My Children a dráme Las Vegas.
27. novembra 2007 koncertovala v Bratislave (Sibamac aréna)[1], predskokokana jej robila Zdenka Predná[2].
24. decembra 2008 Rihanna oznámila, že na začiatku roku 2009 sa chystá začať nahrávanie jej štvrtého albumu.
8. februára 2009 mala Rihanna vystúpiť na odovzdávaní cien Grammy Awards 2009. Nevystúpila, údajne kvôli dopravnej nehode. Neskôr sa ukázalo, že ju pravdepodobne napadol krátko pred vyhlásením jej priateľ a spevák Chris Brown. Speváka zatkli za ublíženie na zdraví. Rihanna, napadnutá Brownom, bola neskôr hospitalizovaná v nemocnici, kde jej zistili škrabance, modriny, porezania a údajne aj pokúsanie na ruke. Týždenník TMZ.com informoval, že k hádke došlo potom, ako Brownovi prišla smska od neznámej ženy. Tou mala byť jedna zo speváčok Leona Lewis alebo Keshia Chanté.
